ATTRACTIVE PROGRAMME FOR WEEK-END One of the most attractive Rugby programmes for the season has been arranged for Whakatane on Saturday when two senior representative games and one first class junior match will be played. The main fixture will be the game between the Central Hawke’s Bay touring team and Whakatane. Central Hawke’s Bay is a sub-union of the Hawke’s Bay Union and embraces the area about Waipukurau. This team is to play three games in the Bay of Plenty, the first being against Whakatane. It will then play Rotorua and Tauranga. The other representative game will be between Whakatane B and Opotiki B for the Moore Shield. By defeating Rangitaiki in their first match this season Whakatane B took the shield and have since held it, although they have yet to play another match.

The early curtain raiser starting at noon will be an attraction and should whet appetites for the senior fare to follow. The two leaders of the junior competition, United and High School, will have their third clash of the season. Both teams are noted for playing bright football and this should be worth seeing,
