Ex-Servicemen In Bay Have Allocated 1128 State Houses

Of the 156 State houses allocated to ex-servicemen in New Zealand in June 13 went to applicants in the Bay of Plenty-Waikato area. This brings the total granted to ex-ser-vicemen in these districts to 1128.

Up to the end of June ex-service-men have received tenancies of 12,645 State rental houses and flats under the arrangement whereby at least half of those allocated go to ex-servicemen applicants. Allocations have been made on the basis of urgency by Rehabilitation Housing Committees in each centre.

Houses have-been allocated to ex-servicemen as follows in North Island districts, allocations for June being shown in parentheses:—

Auckland-North Auckland 3614 (51), Waikato-Bay of Plenty 1128 (13), Hawkes Bay-Poverty Bay 657 (11), Taranaki 399 (5), Wellington (including Wanganui,' Manawatu and Wairarapa) 4082 (37).
