Murupara-Galatea W.I. Secretary Was A Conference Delegate

At the monthly meeting of the Murupara-Galatea branch of the Women’s Division, held in King’s Hall, Murupara, the president, Mrs Hill, opened the afternoon with the reading of the creed. Apologies were received from Mrs G. Allen and Mrs F. Neville. A detailed report on conference business and entertainments was given by the secretary, Mrs C. Allen, Galatea, who had attended the conference in Wellington as the branch delegate. An amusing sketch entitled “Ma Takes a Holiday” was presented by members. Nurse Davies gave an interesting and instructive talk on simple home first aid treatment. Competition winners:—

Rolling shilling, Mrs Kaynbiernis 1; child’s jersey, Mrs Williams 1, Mrs Neilson 2; single bloom, Mrs Cawte 1, Mrs Silcox 2; head of flowers, Mrs White 1, Mrs Pratt 2; vegetables, Mrs Gibbs (onion) 1, Mrs Yager (carrot) 2.
