Whakatane Rider Wins Bay Club’s Time Trial Test

Riding confidently over the whole of the 80 mile course B. Mathews, Whakatane, was the winner of the time trial for the Magnus Lennie Trophy conducted by the Bay of Plenty Motor Cycle Club on Sunday. Mathews rode an A.J.S. and gained 53 points to be first.

There were 22 record entries from Whakatane, Opotiki and Tauranga riders, who tested many difficult hazards on the course. Some riders took the wrong turning at Awakaponga and ended up over the Manawahe hills before they realised their error. Results:—
