Loss Expected on Apple Crop
Unless returns for New Zealand’s apples on the export market this year prove particularly good, the New Zealand taxpayer will have to subsidise the fruit industry by a siderable amount. That is the belief, held by men on the distribution end of the business—the wholesalers and retailers.
