80-MILE TRIAL TO BE HELD SUNDAY An 80-mile course from Whakatane through Matata, Te Teko, Otakiri, Taneatua, Stanley Track and back by way of Ohope will be an exacting test for the Magnus Lennie Trophy trial to be conducted by the Bay of Plenty Motor Cycle Club on Sunday. Timed to start at 9 a.m. the trial will include many hazards, water splash, sand pit and rough riding. At the end of the trial brake tests, stopping and starting and pace estimating tests will be held. About 12 riders from Whakatane will be taking part but competitors are expected from outside clubs.
