Messrs D. C. Butler, Whakatane, A. C. Robins, Thornton, and R. F. Wardlaw, are members of the Bay of Plenty delegation at present attending the annual conference of Federated Farmers of New Zealand at Christchurch. It is led by the Bay president, Mr S. A. Wells, Katikati.
The Minister of Rehabilitation, Mr Macdonald, announces the appointment of Mr C. O. Grant as local Rehabilitation Committees’ representative and Chairman of the District Loans Committee at Auckland. Mr Grant has an extensive farming background and served in the 1914-18 war.
Miss Tutari Merito, daughter of Mr and Mrs Massey Merito, Whakatane, was one of many debutantes who were presented to Archbishop O’Shea, Wellington, at a Catholic Charity Ball held recently at Napier. Miss Merito is at present at the Sacred Heart Girls’ College, Napier.
