Motor Cycle Club To Hold Trial Run

Other clubs are to be invited to take part in a reliability trial from Whakatane to Matata on July 23 it was decided at the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Motor Cycle Club. The entrants will leave Whakatane at 9 a.m. and visit most of the nearby country districts. Officers elected: —

Patron, Mr H. G. Warren* president, Mr T. Cross; vice-presidents, Messrs P. Trueman, F. Cameron; secretary, Mr D. McGlashen; treasurer, Mr J. Haeusler; club captain, Mr C. Trueman; vice-captain, Mr J. Marsh; committee, Messrs W. Bigwood, R. Alph, R. Woods, Marsh; handicapper, Mr Bigwood; auditor, Mr Hewitt; publicity officer, Mr Cameron.

Championships Sought

For Whakatane

A decision to apply to the New Zealand Auto Cycle Union for the staging of three New Zealand Championships this year was reached at the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Motor Cycle Club held at Whakatane. The club’s delegate to the Union, Mr F. Cameron, will support the application when he attends the annual meeting at Palmerston North.

Three championships applied for are. The championship road hill climb 500 cc; championship 500 cc beach meeting; and the quarter mile grass track championship.
