TWO REPRESENTATIVE GAMES FOR SENIOR TEAMS Because of senior ‘representative games at Matata and Te Kaha no senior competition games will be played at Whakatane on Saturday. Instead junior and third grade games will be played on Rugby Field at Whakatane commencing at noon. No matches will be played at Taneatua*.

At Te Kaha Whakatane is to meet Apanui in the first match for the Hurinui Apanui Shield and at Matata Rangitaiki will defend the Moore Shield from Whakatane B. For the team travelling to Te Kaha the bus will leave the Whakatane depot at 7 a.m. and for the Matata game it leaves at 11.45 a.m. Any player hot available in either the'A or B teams is to notify the secretary of the Union not later than Friday morning.

Those people who do not'leave the district during the week-end will have an opportunity to follow Whakatane Rugby. Some strong matches have been drawn and these should provide some enlightening .football. Both junior and third grade Rugby has improved considerably this season and will provide a fine opportunity to see Whakatane’s future seniors in action. The draw:— Third grade: School A v Paroa on Np. 1 at 1.30 p.m., School B a bye.

Junior: Poroporo v School on No. 2 at 1.30 p.m., United v Taneatua on No. 2 at 3 p.m., Paroa v Wairaka » on No. 1 at 3 p.m.

RANGITAIKI TEAMS FOR/ SATURDAY Both the A and B Rangitaiki representative Rugby teams will be playing at Matata on Saturday Rangitaiki A will meet Tauranga for the Hurinui Apanui Shield While the B team plays Whakatane in the Moore Shield competition. Strong teams have been selected and some good football is expected The A team is to report to the managers, Messrs L. Anderson, F. Sykes and O. Lord, at Matata at 2 p.ffiSb and the B team to Messrs N. Hill and A. Kinley at 12.30 p.m. The teams:—

Rangitaiki A: Full back, Schuster; three-quarters, Newdick, Parkinson, Mexted; five-eighths, Savage, Sullivan; half back, N. Raureti;: back tow, Potae (captain); middle row, Craddock, Falwasser, Woods. Moses: front row, Lang, Pryor, Caverhill. Reserves: Backs, Burt, Liki; forwards, Edwards, Martin. Rangitaiki B: Full back, Werata; three-quarters, - Perenara, Amai, Riini; five-eighhts, J. Marks, M. Davis; half back, R. Newdick; back row, W. Anderson; middle row, H. Conn, Dodd, Lyons, S. Davis; front row, Rendall, Eivers, Anderson. Reserves: Backs, Pryor, T. Davis; forwards, Olsen, Bidois. RANGITAIKI JUNIORS Although no senior club games are to be played in the Rangitaiki Union on Saturday the following junior games have been drawn for Te Teko and Matata:—

Juniors: Te Teko v Edgecumbe at Te Teko 1 p.m., referee A. Hegh; Matata v Otakiri at Matata at noon, B. Smith.
