Railway And Roads Reopened To Traffic

All Whakatane road and rail services are expected to be back to normal again todgy following the reopening of roads blocked by flooding and slips and the clearing of slips on the Bay of Plenty railway line. The road to Gisborne, which had been blocked since Saturday was reopened yesterday morning to traffic. However, work was still proceeding on clearing the road from Opotiki to Te Araroa yesterday but normal services to this area are expected to be resumed today.

Slips on the main railway line were cleared yesterday afternoon and the line was open to normal traffic this morning.
