Taneatua Third In Drama Festival

Representing the eastern Bay of Plenty the Taneatua Women’s Institute were third in the elimination drama festival of women institutes, held at Frankton Junction on Thursday. The final markings were very close, Taneatua finishing three points behind the winners. Taneatua presented a comedy and although the cast presented a fine performance it is considered that there may have been greater success if the group had played a drama. The first two plays were dramas.

The Taneatua group are to present a play at Rotorua at a festival organised by the British Drama League.
