Clay Bird Shooting

J. McLEOD WINS FAY CHAMPIONSHIP

After a shoot-off with four other finalists J. McLeod, Te Puke, annexed the Plamus Cup for the Bay of Plenty Championship at the Paroa rangg of the Whakatane Rod and Gun Club on Sundav. Nineteen birds were required for the final shoot When McLeod rounded off a fine display of annexing the troohy. About 30 shooters who. toge ! \er with a interested crowd of spectators, witnessed some good shooting throughout the day. Shooters came from as far afield as Rotorua, Kati kati, Morrinsville and Tauranga. The weather was fine and clear, the wind being nil in the afternoon. Results:—

10 Bird Eyeopener: Messrs W. Kenyon, J. Plamus, W. Baker, J. McLeod, W. Hume, N. McLeod all shot the possible. 15 Birds: C. K. Henderson, W. Hume, and Mr Boynton (a newcomer to -the sport from Waimana) shot the possible. 20 Birds: W. Kenyon and R. S. Ricketts 20 each, J. Plamus, R. Baker, W. Baker, J. McLeod, C. K. Henderson, J. L. Hayward, W. Mayo shot 19. Plamus Cup: J. McLeod on the shoot off. Messrs W. Baker, C. K. Henderson and J. Tebbutt shot the possible. 10 Birds: A. Wansbone, R. Julian, W. Hume, G. Pulis all shot the possible. 10 Birds: R. Baker, W. Baker and R. S. Ricketts all shot the possible.
