Winter Show TODAY, TOMORROW, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Wednesday the Show will be opened at 2 p.m. by the Hon. Mr W. Sullivan, M.P. IYZ Rotorua will broadcast the opening. Judging completed. The Jet Plane Engine will be demonstrated and the Show as a whole will settle down to a record start.. Refreshments at the main door. Thursday, Show opens at 10 a.m.. School parties with teachers in charge admitted free. Concert at night. The wonderful assemblage of side shows will be of interest to all. Picture show by the N.Z. Health Dept. Refreshments opposite main door. Show closes 10 p.m. Friday, Show opens 10 a.m. Concerts, Side Shows, Jet Plane Engine, Machinery Music will fill the day. The Poultry Show opens. New Zealand Championships decided. The poultry marquee with special lighting will show the birds to perfection. The 4000 square feet motor marquee will be packed with tractors, cars and motor equipment. Refreshments can be purchased. SEE “ATHOL THE STRONGMAN”, THE FERRIS WHEEL, GALLOPING MERRY GO ROUND, AUTODROME RIDE, HORSE O’ PLANE, AND SIDE SHOWS OF ALL DESCRIPTIONS. SHOW CLOSES It) P.M. Saturday, Show opens at 10 a.m. N.Z. Championships. See the winners in the Poultry Marquee. At 10.30 a.m. over 100 children will start competing in the Caledonian Dancing Competitions. At 1.30 p.m. the procession will start from Ramson & Rae’s corner. Pony Club riders have a paddock provided to the horses up and also for horsed vehicles. Remember prize money has been increased up to some £5 prizes for procession competitors. Mr A. R. Chapman (Regent) is the Marshall. Many new features will attract young and old. A pancake throwing competition open to all school boys will be held at 3 p.m. on or near the children’s play ground. Mr will control this event. Some other surprising and new features may be arranged but are not yet finalised. An Electric Cake Mixer, an H.M.V. Radio, and an Electric Clock will be competed for during the 4 days of the Show and the winners will be decided on Saturday night at or about 9 p.m. Entrance: Adults 2/-, Children 6d.
