Lamb Walks On Two Legs

A lamb which walks on its two forefeet when grazing is a curiosity on the farm of Mr B. Griffith at Hiwipango, Nelson. Ever since it was a frolicking lamkin 10 months ago it has adopted this strange attitude, not by choice, however'. The lamb has always suffered from a form of arthritis which prevented it from lowering its head to feed in the normal way. Most lambs in similar circumstances would have starved, but this one by daily practice learned to balance and walk on its two front feet with its body and hind legs in vertical position, which enabled it to reach the grass. For roaming about the paddock the lamb walks, or, if occasion demands, it runs normally. The lamb has been an object of interest to the Agricultural Department officer and farmers of the district.
