AGE AfrD TIME OF VACCINATION Lambs: Where deaths from Blackleg follow marking, _ all unmarked lambs should be vaccinated immediately and marking deferred for a fortnight after vaccination. Hoggets: Where losses are anticipated in hoggets on winter feed, they should be vaccinated a fortnight before going on this feed. Ewes: Where losses occur in ewes at lambing, they should be vaccinated two or three weeks before lambing commences. Lambs may be rendered immune up to the age of about six weeks by vaccinating the ewe a fortnight before lambing. Vaccination at an earlier date is not very effective in protecting the lambs. The ewes should therefore be divided into early and late lambers and each lot vaccinated a fortnight before lambing commences, For the protection of lambs, ewes must be vaccinated annually.
