More County Rates Struck Last Year

Rates struck in the Whakatane County last year were slightly increased on those of previous years. The amount struck was £32,197 18s sd, which included £27,966 7s Id European and £4,231 Maori. The total European collection was 99.3 per cent and the Maori collection 93.22 per cent. The total rate collected was £31,727 19s 4d. The total of rates struck over the past four years are:— 1946-47 £31,358 16s, 1947-48 £29,058 16s 3d, 1948-49 £31,919 18s 7d, 1949-50 £32,197 8s sd.
