Presentations Made To Many Galatea Prize Winners

The president, Mrs W. Black, made the presentation to the points prize winners of last year’s competitions at the monthly meeting of the Galatea Women’s Institute. These were won by Mrs J. Lee (aggregate points); flower head, Mrs Woller 1, Mrs C. Heard 2, Mrs Nicholls 3; single bloom, Mrs Lee 1, Mrs Woller and Mrs Heard 2 equal; monthly competition, Mrs Lee 1, Mrs Veager and Mrs Heard 3 equal. Gifts were presented, to the retiring president and secretary, Mesdames L. Nicholls and J. MacDonald, respectively. The competition for the month, a novelty hat, was well entered and some good ideas were shown. Judged best by popular vote were Mesuames Cawte 1, Gear 2, Creamer and H. Goodhue 3 equal. The flowe’ competitions for the month were; Single bloom, Mesdames G. Lane and W. Gear 2, I. MacDonald 3; head, Mesdames S. Pratt 1, M. Veager 2, J. Thatcher 3. The rolling shilling was won by Mrs Mills.

The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames J. Lee, A. Judd and F. Aagaard.
