Winter Show 1950 JUNE 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th * We would remind the members of the Winter Show Association that the annual membership fee of 10/6 is now due. The Executive has planned a much bigger and comprehensive Show and preliminary expenses amount to a considerable sum. Your co-operation in prompt payment would be helpful. CALEDONIAN DANCING It will be of interest to our readers to know that over 200 young people are practising and learning Caledonian dancing from their teachers. The Caledonian Society will conduct National Dancing competitions on the last day of the Winter Show, Saturday, June 24, commencing at 10.30 am. An Academy Judge will be appointed, and Gold and Silver Medals and third prize certificates will be presented to each winner. Already over 100 entries have been received, and this will be the strongest competitive children’s Caledonian contest ever held on this coast. All competitors in costume will be admitted free. We anticipate widespread interest in these competitions and record crowds should throng the building. SIDE SHOWS We have already booked most of the leading New Zealand side shows and the Executive is hard put to find space for the huge shows coming. Richard Cobbe, Secretary, P.O. Box 213. Phones 398 D and 146 A (new and not listed).
