Maori properties under the control of the East Coast Commissioner are enjoying a substantial of the general prosperity which has descended upon New Zealand •woolgrowers, and recent offerings both in New Zealand and in London have brought highly satisfactory prices. From Tukemokihi station in the Wairoa district, which produces wool a little better than the average of commission blocks for fineness, the product of the dry shearing of late last year reached London to hit the peak of values at the January sale. The offering from Tnkemokihi in London totalled 16 * bales, comprising fleece wools in the main, but also a proportion of the station’s first pieces and bellies and necks.

The product of Tukemokihi’s wet shearing representing 192 bales, was offered at Napier, the range of prices being: A ewes, 42|d per lb; B ewes, 37.jd per lb; C ewes, 37dd per lb; sedy fleece wool, 35jd per lb; A lambs,, 39d per lb; B lambs, 36d per lb; first pieces, 31£d per lb; seedy pieces, 31d per lb; and bellies 281 d per lb. The commission has split its disposal of the current season’s clip, sending about 1650 bales in all to London and retaining about 1000 bales for sale at Napier. In the current week, 172 bales of woo' from the commission’s Wharekopae properties was scheduled to be offered on the London market.
