NEWFOUNDLAND PASTOR VISITS WHAKATANE
A Newfoundlander, Paster G. Butler, visited Whakatane on Sunday and in the afternoon addressed local Adventists on the remarkable progress of the church in its world field. Pastor Butler leads the Sabbath School and Home Missions activities of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
“Nations have , deserted Christ',” said Pastor Butler, “the majority of mankind are serving Satan*; but Christ has a people who keep His law—a people in every country.” He said that man was being called to renounce Satan and prepare for the coming of Christ. Multitudes are responding to this call, having decided for Christ and against those things that are inconsistent with the Christian life. Pastor Butler was accompanied by Mrs Butler and three leaders of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Paster C. Head from the TransTasman Union Conference, Pastor R. J. Burns, President, and W. H. Stevens, Sabbath School and Home Missions Secretary, both of the North New Zealand Conference.
