WINTER WEIGHT FOOTWEAR FOR, ALL. Work Boots, Gum Boots, Dress Shoes, Slippers. Call and inspect at MILNE’S SHOE STORE The Strand, Whakatane.

Winter Show 1950 JUNE 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th The Executive has arranged for 7,000 square feet of extra Show space, but already we have very little available. Trade entries are coming from a wide area, and another record Show appears to be a certainty. The space committee has planned a new and attractive lay out, and the numerous side shows will be placed in two long lines from the Quay Street concrete bridge. The educational films will be shown in the main building annexe, and a concert platform will be erected at the opposite end. The Executive would appreciate offers from musicians, vocalists and reciters to give items on Show evenings. Transport will be arranged if necessary, and we know the artists are here if they will only come forward to help the Show become a community effort. Many residents have household articles, farm machinery and relics of the old pioneer days, and a special stall will be arranged for their exhibition if sufficient notice is given by prospective exhibitors. The Rev. Rangi is arranging an exhibit of old Maori curios and it will be of outstanding interest in view of the fact that this coast was the landing place of the first inhabitants of this Dominion. Mr J. Waterhouse, Secretary of the Poultry Pigeon & Cage Bird Show, will visit Auckland, Waikato, Manawatu, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne to contact the Dominion’s leading breeders for the Winter Show exhibit. Many championships have been allocated to the Sfyow, and in anticipation of record entries, space of 2400 square feet has been arranged for poultry alone. Richard Cobbe, Secretary, P.O. Box 213. Phones 398 D md 146 A (new and not listed).
