Chimney Fire
A call to a chimney fire at a residence in Commerce Street was received by the Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade just after 6 p.m. on Saturday. The outbreak was extinguished with bucket pumps and there was no serious damage. At about 5 p.m. yesterday the brigade received a false alarm.
