Talk Given On Early Whakatane
Life in early Whakatane was the subject of an interesting talk by Mrs Pearson to the monthly meeting of the Ohope Women’s Institute. She gave an account of many interesting anecdotes and mentioned some of the old identities connected with the district.
The meeting was presided over by Mrs Cutler and the resignation of the secretary, Mrs Thomason, was received. Mrs Campbell was elected to fill this position. The hostesses were Mesdames Thomason and Anderson. The compettions were judged by Mrs Stevenson. Results:—
