Two New Women’s Institutes Formed In Eastern Bay Area
Two new institutes have been formed and one put into operation again after being in recess for a number ‘of years the report presented to the annual meeting of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation of ‘ Women’s Institutes stated. The two new ones are at Nukuhou and Whangarua while the reformed institute is the branch, at Te Kaha. Information is sought by the Federation for tales of the early pioneering and settlement days of the district the report adds. Any interesting events are wanted of the local history and in time it is hoped to publish a booklet of pioneering tales. There has been considerable interest in the forthcoming Dominion Conference at Christchurch. Mrs Sawyer has been nominated for the position of president and Mrs Armstrong, Otakiri, the Dominion exe-r cutive, the report states.
