Recordings To Be Made Of Eastern Bay Y.F. Clubs

A portable recording unit from the broadcasting studios of IYA Auckland will be on tour cf the Eastern Bay of Plenty for a week towards the end of this month, it was stated at the monthly meeting nf the Thornton Young Farmers’ Club. The tour is being made under the sponsorship of the Y.F.C. district committee.

The Thornton Club is to be responsible for one day of the tour. The recorded sessions last about a quarter of an hour and will be broadcast from IYZ and IYA.

The Romney sheep judging section was won by J. O’Brien, Taneatua, a member of the Eastern Bay of Plenty team, which competed in the stock-judging competition conducted by the Auckland Council of Young Farmers’ Clubs held at Te Puke.

In the competition for the J. M. Smith Stock Judging Memorial Shield the competing teams obtained the following points: Waikato B team 537 points, 1; Waipa 526 points, 2; Eastern Bay of Plenty 523 points, 3; Northern King Country A team, 504, points, 4.
