Excess Preservative In Sausages

Pleading guilty to a breach of the Food and Drugs Act, 1947, in that they sold sausages which contained £. greater amount of sulphur dioxide than was permitted N. E. Rigden and Company (Mr Suckling) butchers, were convicted and fined £5 costs £1 0s 6d, by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M, at Whakatane yesterday. Senior-Sergeant Fuller said that the sausages had been purchased and analysed and the excess amount of sulphur dioxide had been discovered.
