FAST AND EXCITING GAMES YESTERDAY

Some fast and exciting games were witnessed in the Central Bay of Plenty Hockey Association’s competitions, which were continued yesterday. Results:-^

A Grade: Women: Matata 6 v Apanui 1, Te Teko 6 v Awakeri 0, Rovers 2 v Poroporo 3, Whakatane a bye. Men: Matata 1 v Apanui 1, Riverslea 6 v Awakeri 1, Rovers 3 V Poroporo 1. B Grade: Women: Porcpoio 4 v Otakiri Stars 2. Man: Te Teko 5 v Rangers 2, Otakiri Stars beat Poroporo by default. EDGECUMBE & RUATOKI AT TANEATUA Ten teams provided some strong competition and fast games at the seven-a-Jside hockey tournament conducted by the Taneatua Club on Saturday. Conditions were fine and play was watched by a fair crowd. The men’s section was won by Edgecumbe and the women’s by Ruatoki.
