Show Court Presents Big Problem To The Thornton Y.F. Club

The monthly meeting of the Thornton Young Farmers’ Club finished with, group discusions followed by several games of indoor bowls, and some close games were Witnessed. A considerable amount of business on the agenda, including a report .on club committee meetiihgs, purchase of a duplicator, obligations in regard to local and Waikato ' Winter Show Courts and also the annual ball. These were quickly and thoroughly dealt with. The local traffic inspector is to be approached to give a lecture at the next meeting and a field day may also be held at the demonstration area, Matata. Planning an attractive Court for the Whakatane Winter Show is proving itself to be something of a headache for clubs of the district. As the District Committee is to enter a Court in the Waikato Winter Show this year for the first time and each club must pull its weight with labour, transport, and supplies. Competition at the local show this year is expected to be Very strong compared . with last year’s hurried effort.
