WHAKATANE AND THAMES COLTS DRAW
Some good cricket, was seen when Whakatane drew with the touring Thames Colts team at Whakatane on Monday. Some particularly good bowling by the Whakatane pair, J. Ruff and J. Rivett, kept the visiting batsmen careful and the scores down. Ruff took four wickets for 20 runs and Rivett 3 for 27. Details:—
Whakatane 161 (E. Tunnicliffe 35, W. McCready 29, J. Grant 25; Johnson 3 for 43, ISlewlands 2 for 11) drew with Thames Colts 82 for 8 wickets at stumps (E. Sutherland :38; Ruff 4 for 20, Rivett 3 for 27).
