PUBLIC NOTICES BAY OF PLENTY LICENSING DISTRICT NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A PUBLICAN’S LICENSE THE WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it desires to obtain and at the next meeting of the Bay ,of Plenty Licehsing Committee to be held at Rotorua on such date as the said Committee shall appoint, will apply under Section 3 of “The Local Licensing Trust Regulations 1949” for the grant of a Publican’s License for premises to be erected on Part of Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 32926 being part Allotment 138 A and 142 of the Town of Matata and situated fronting the Edge-cumbe-Te Teko Highway within the Township of Edgecumbe, such premises to be conducted by a local trust to be formed for that purpose. REPERTORY THEATRE It is proposed to form a Repertory Theatre in Whakatane similar in constitution to the Auckland and Wellington Repertory Theatres. WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER Notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Whakatane County Council held on Tuesday the 28th day of March, 1950, the following Resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Wednesday the 26th day of April, 1950, at 11 a.m. at the County Council Chambers, Whakatane: — “THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 122 of The Counties’ Act 1920 and Sec. 2 of The Counties’ Amendment Act 1929, and with the consent of the ratepayers of that area in the Whakatane County known as the Stanley Road separate rating district, as testified by a petition dated the 27th day of March 1950, and signed by a majority of the ratepayers in the said area the lands comprising such area being fully described in the schedule appearing n the said petition—a copy of which petition and schedule appears below the minutes of this meeting and shall form part of this resolution —the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order to make and levy a separate rate of Five Pence Three Farthings (sgd) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property within the said Stanley Road separate rating district, and that such separate rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the period required in which to repay in full all moneys advanced applied or expended by the Council in connection with the road improvement and realignment and diversion works mentioned in the said petition and until cancelled in accordance with the provisions thereof and shall be payable yearly on the 9th day of September in each year during the said period.” AND NOTICE is further given that the said petition and the minutes containing a copy of the petition and schedule will be open to inspection by the public at the County Office, The Strand, Whakatane, during ordinary office hours for a period of af least twenty-one days preceding the said meeting to be held on the 26th day of April, 1950.
