1950 Winter Show The executive will gladly supply any information in connection with the arrangements for the 1950 Show. Communicate with any of the following citizens who are working to create another record Show for this town and district. Messrs H. G. Warren, F. M. Abbott, C. G. Caisley, L. R Spring, G. Otley, A. Hall, W. T. Howat, R. Whittle, A. Burgess, G. A. Wilkes, C. E. Thatcher, E. Cleaver, S. A. Cave, W. Whittaker. DECISIONS OF GENERAL INTEREST It has been decided that the Show will be held on June 21, 22, 23 and 24, Wednesday to Saturday. 7 Member's subscription will remain at 10/6. There will be no canvassing for donations in future and the Show will stand on its merits and attractiveness to the public. This will not prevent citizens from making a voluntary donation to a Show that brings business, and advertises this rich and fertile district. Every business will be called on to advertise in the new schedule. It has been suggested that some exhibits be transferred to the poultry shed and that a large marquee be used fpr the fine exhibit ot poultry. The Executive will welcome constructive suggestions from members and the public. Many new firms are booking space, and there is not the slightest doubt that late applications will have to be rejected. The question of shifting the Winter Show to a new location to provide space for other attractions and exhibitors is of paramount importance to this town and district. It is a problem that presents many difficulties, but must be faced in the next few months. Some members have suggested that the Winter Show Buildings be sold, and the money be made over to the Domain Board to apply for a £1 for £1 subsidy under the War Memorial Scheme. Your suggestions will be welcomed by the Show Executive. Richard Cobbe, Secretary. Phone 169 a, P.O. Box 213.
