COVERINGS WANTED

Sir, —It is to be regretted that, with such a lovely school as the Whakatane one, some of the younger children should have to use a tent as their classroom. However if that is unavoidable at least it should be adequately equipped. In my experience it has always; been accepted , that there should be' some covering on the ground as damp is bound to rise when the atmosphere gets warm. If a ground sheet is unsatisfactory, then, in my opinion there should definitely be a boarded floor. Children suffer too much as it is from' colds and rheumatics without inviting trouble. - It is to be hoped that something will be done soon and before the wet weather sets in.

Yours etc., “A MOTHER.” Whakatane, Mar,ch 31.
