Good Attendance At Awakeri Meeting

A good attendance of members gathered for the meeting of the Awakeri branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers held recently, Mrs N. Carter presiding. A discussion took place regarding the inter-provincial meeting to be held in June, members agreeing to assist with the catering for that fixture.

A talk was given by Mrs Haultain on the work of the Division, the growth of the' organisation and the progress accomplished since its inception. Competition results: —

Jar of marmalade, Mrs L. Carter 1, Mrs N. Carter 2, Mrs E. C. Haultain 3; Best flower, Mrs J. Graham 1, Mrs L. Carter 2, Mrs Curran 3; best fruit, Mrs Graham 1, Mrs E. C. Haultain 2, Mrs Arrol 3; best vegetable, Mrs McGougan 1, Mrs Ai’rol 2, Mrs Rae 3.
