GOOD WIN FOR ROTOMA tOVER MANAWAHE Rotoma had a convincing wm' over Manawahe in a return tenrpsj match played at Manawahe on Sun* day by 20 sets to four. Some good games were witnessed but the visitors early established their superiority.

MATATUA PLAYERS FOR GISBORNE A team of 35 players will be representing the Matatua Association in the New Zealand Maori tennis tournament to be held at Gisborne over Easter. Players from all over the North Island are expected to be competing. Supporters are being invited to go with the team and anybody wanting transport is asked to contact Mrs P. Howell. Buses will leave 9 a.m. Good Friday.
MAORI PLAYERS’ SUCCESS Four Opotiki players were successful in representing the Matatua Maori Tennis Association in the Horouta Maori Tournament held at Ruatoria. S. McLaughlin won the men’s singles while the girls’ singles was won by Kura Rangi. The boys’ doubles went to Ngapo Weh and Akuhata Honatana. JUNIOR COMPETITION On Sunday junior players of the Whakatane Maori Tennis Association are to play off for the McLeod Trophies, consisting of two new tennis racquets. Play will take place all day on the Poroporo courts.
