WHAKATANE TO MEET ROTORUA Some top grade tennis is expected to be played on the Whakatane courts on Sunday Whakatane will meet Rotorua in the final, match for the Lees Cup. Play will commence at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day. Whakatane has had one of its most successful seasons this year and have already claimed the Dunlop Shield, which they won from Rotorua last week. Each club has staved off other clubs for the Lees Cup so that Sunday’s game will provide some interesting competition.

Beside these two trophy successes another Whakatane club, St. George, was the winner of the C grade competition for such graded clubs in the Bay of Plenty.
