KEEPING OF TOMATO JUICE
61b tomatoes, 1 pint water, I teaspoon carb. soda (this may be left out), 2 onions, pepper and salt to taste, 3 teaspoons cornflour. Put all ingredients except soda and cornflour into saucepan, and boil till a pulp; rub through a sieve, then return to fire. Add soda and cornflour, mixed with a little water, stir, boil five minutes, then put in. jars or bottle. Put in good corks, then dip in wax several times, to just below where the cork fits.
