Keen Competition At Fortnightly Cattle Sale
Competition in all classes was keen, an excellent sale resulting and a total clearance being effected under the hammr at the fortnightly stock sale of Dalgety and Co. Ltdheld at Opotiki. There was a medium yarding of fat and boner cattle. Prices realised:— ,
Sheep: Small white faced ewe lambs to 27s 7d, medium white faced wether lambs, 26s Id; small white faced lambs ( 19s, small black faced lambs, shorn, 20s, fat wethers; £2 6s, forward condition 2 to 4 tooth wethers, 43s 2d, aged ewes R.W. Romney rams, 23s 4d, mixed aged ewes R.W. Southdown rams, 25s Id.
Cattle: Heavy fat Jersey cows, £8 15s to £9 ss, medium fat Jersey cows, £7 10s to £8 ss, heavy boners, £6 17s to £7 2s, medium, £5 15s to £6 13s, light, £4 5s to £4 19s, potter bulls, according to weight, £6 10s to £8 15s.
