Land Priorities For Ex-Servicemen

The question of priorities for servicemen awaiting settlement who had lengthy service, had been farming since their return and were in the older age groups, was discussed by representatives of the Returned Services’ Association from the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and King Country at Hamilton. Many of these men had missed, it was stated.

A points scheme which had been submitted earlier was considered too cumbersome and it was recommended to headquarters,, that 50 per cent of the farms for ballot be put aside r to be ballotted for by men who had passed their 38th birthday at the time of the ballot to make sure these men were settled first.
