Advanced Prices For Fat Cows Realised At Fortnightly Sale
A medium yarding of fat and boner cows sold particularly well at advanced prices at the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd’s, fortnightly stock sale held at the Te Puke saleyards. Pigs were yarded in good numbers for this time of the year. Prices for baconers remained firm at late rates. There was a stronger demand for porkers and buttermilk pigs. The sheep ex Matawai and East Coast came forward in good order. Although the demand for breeding ewes has slackened through most farmers having completed their flocks, a total clearance was effected at values very little below the earlier sheep sales.
