The Shell Returned Home

A plank exploded while a Leeds shopfitter was feeding it into as power-driven edging tool recently. Embedded in the plank had been a shell fired by a British fighterpilot into a North German forest in 1945. The shell was unnoticed while the tree was felled, sawn into lengths, shipped to England, and made intp planks.
