Fire At Hospital
Little damage was done by a grass fire in the gardens of the Whakatane District Hospital _ behind the annexe block on Friday. A call; was made for the Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade at about 3.30 p.m. and the outbreak was extinguished with a bucketpump.
There is no need to scald tomatoes if you want to peel them. Simply scrape them gently but firmly all over with a kriijfe, then cut into the top and peel as you would a peach.
