SANITARY SERVICE
Sir,—l wonder if I may, as one of the many long-suffering householders affected by the extremely sketchy performance of his duties offer my suggestion to this borough’s contractor, that he either do his job or give someone less tired a chance. I quite realise that it cannot be work that wqjpld appeal to everyone; but surely the quite attractive pay, might induce some more conscientious person to attend to this very necessary job; and save the householders from turning their small sections into sewage farms. If no one can be induced to remove the sewage regularly, then the installation of septic tanks and water flushed lavatories, or chemical lavatories, which the householder could empty on his own sections without causing the present dangerous state of things seems indicated. What about it? _ y Yours etc., “HERE’S HOPING.” Whakatane, March 2.
