Large Yard Of Pigs At Edgecumbe Sale

A large yarding of all classes of pigs came forward at the Edgecumbe pig sale of the Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Co. this week. Competition for medium weight bacon revealed a sharp rise on recent sales. Other classes remained firm. Quotations: —

Choppers, £5 10s to £6 15s; heavy bacon, £6 17s to £7 2s; medium bacon, £6 15s to £6 19s; light bacon, £6 to £6 11s; large buttermilk pigs, £5 10s to £6; heavy pork, £4 18s to £5 ss; medium £4 5s to £4 14s; store pigs and light pork, £3 5s to £4 2s; slips and weaners," 31s to 38s.
