One Week From Tomorrow A. & P. SHOW SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25 , 1950 WHAKATANE DOMAIN For 41 years this Show has influenced the farming 1 and commercial life of the Bay of Plenty. Never in New Zealand’s history has the need for greater production and increased exports been more vital to our financial future. Your support, your membership and above all your attendance next Saturday week will be a personal recognition and appreciation of the fact that our continued prosperity lies in the land. HIGHLIGHTS OF A RECORD SHOW The horse events will as usual be outstanding and jumpers from a wide area have already entered in each event. The Children’s Pony events will start some of the contestants on the road to future championships. Stock entries particularly in the Dairy Classes will show the source from which England gets her principal supplies of dairy produce Home Industries, School Classes and Farm Produce and Fruit entries will attract all home lovers. Poultry Shows on this coast have always been successful, and the energetic Poultry Committee will maintain its reputation. Many an old pioneer will recall the glens and mountains of his native land as he watches the National Caledonian Dancing Competitions. The Girls’ Marching Competitions will be keenly contested and special preparations have been made to deal with the record entries. Machinery exhibits will excel all previous Shows and many new labour saving machines will foe demonstrated. Owing to the large entries received the path and cycling track will be closed on Saturday, February 25th. Amendments to schedule: — Cooking section: Class 366 should read “Chocolate Cake” (iced).
