WHAKATANE WOMEN’S SURF TEAM FOR AUCKLAND
The New Zealand champion Whakatane Ladies’ surf team is to compete at a surf carnival at Piha Beach, Auckland, off Sunday against women’s teams from other parts of the Auckland Province. The carnival has been arranged to coincide with the visit of the touring Australian surf team, which will also be competing. , Whakatane Ladies were invited to Auckland to give exhibitions in surf drill following their outstanding success at the New Zealand Championships at Wellington. The team will travel to Auckland tomorrow and return after the carnival on Sunday.
