WEEK-END PLAY AT ’ OHOPE

A Mixed Pairs Tournament was held on the Ohope bowling green on Anniversary Day holiday and it was won by a team from Raetihi led by K. Edwards with H. Steer as skip. At the same week-end an earlier tournament was won by a team skipped by W. Harris of Ohope with D. Sponges team of Whakatane runners-up. Again outside visiting teams competed. On both occasions the conditions were very good. Visitors have been so impressed with the green and its atmosphere that they have named it “The Friendly Green.”
