Athletic Club Formed After being in recess for a number of years the Opotiki Amateur Athletic and Cycling Association has been resuscitated with encouraging results. The first meeting held recently proved popular and the club appears well on the way to be reestablished. Nobody Bothered A pig which escaped from itp owner at Te Puke and eluded him for a few hours was seen by hundreds of people but none bothered to attempt to recapture the animal. It was later captured in the Te Puke Domain by two young boys who were rewarded with five shillings each from the thankful owner. Lightning Over Lakes A fine display of sheet lightning over Lake Rotoma attracted the attention of travellers on the Wha-katane-Rotorua main highway on Monday night. Some clouds banked to the north of the lake were lit up again and again as the lightning flashed and at times looked like the lights of heavy artillery firing beyond the horizon. A bright moon also helped to add to the scene and together with the lightning presented a most unusual picture.
