GALATEA’S FIRST LARGE SCALE SHOW DRAWS HIGH QUALITY ENTRIES AND GOOD ATTENDANCE

Galatea’s first large-scale A. and P. Show on Saturday drew a good crowd and excellent entries in most events. Weather, after having been fine for a long time, broke and there was heavy rain in the morning, but the day was brighter after lunch. Judging the stock classes, Mr J. !E. Rae, commented that the cattle section was very good for an initial show, and said the prize winners in many of the classes would not be disgraced in much larger events. The ring events drew horses from a wide area, and events were hard to win. Horticultural and home industries sections drew good exhibits of high standard, though sewing entries could have been more numerous. • RING EVENTS. (Judge, Mr H. Hill). 11 Stone Hack: R. Gordon 1, J.
