New Safety Glass For Vehicles

A new type of safety plate glass for use in automobile windshields has been developed in the United States. The glass, a pale, bluishgreen colour, is designed to reduce a major driving hazard—the glare that distorts a driver’s vision and causes dangerous eye fatigue. The glass, said to exclude more than 15 per cent of the infra-red rays of the sun, modulates light impulses that hit a driver’s eyes, eliminating the sharp contrasts between glare and shadow. It was developed by the Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company of Toledo, in the State of Ohio.
