SMITH STARS TROPHY FORFEITED Owing to several members of L. Berg’s Smith Stars team going to the New Plymouth Tournament, the team had to forfeit the Stars in the Whakatane Bowling Club this week-end, and the next two teams on the ladder player, resulting in C. Good’s team having a comfortable win over W. team. In the Junior Stars match A. Morpeth and D. Bridger had a one point victory over E. Chamberlain and H. Morgan. Smith Stars: W. Compton, E. Johnson, C. Coates, C. W. Good 27 v R. Morgan, P. Sims, G. Latta, W. Henderson 15. Junior, Stars: D. Bridger, A. Morpeth 16 v H. Morgan, E. Chamberlain 15. Other games: J. Grahame, H. L. King, A.
